Congratulations to the New Editors of鈥�Teaching English in the Two-Year College!

楼凤天堂 and the Two-Year College English Association (TYCA) are听pleased to announce the selection听of Jessica Nastal and Cheryl Hogue Smith as the incoming editors of听Teaching English in the Two-Year College听(TETYC).

Jessica Nastal听(she/they), PhD,听comes to听Teaching English in the Two-Year College听(TETYC)听with many years in scholarly editorial work, notably as听associate听editor of the听Journal of Writing Assessment,听developmental听editor of听The Journal of Writing Analytics, and听an editorial board member for journals including听Assessing Writing,听Composition Studies, and听TETYC.听Her research focuses on writing pedagogy and response to student writing. With Mya Poe and Christie Toth, Jessica’s coedited听collection听Writing Placement in Two-Year Colleges: The Pursuit of Equity in Postsecondary Education听won the听CWPA Best Book Award. Jessica is a faculty member at the College of DuPage, where she teaches composition and writing studies classes and is a member of the听Promoting听Civic Engagement Community of Practice.听

Cheryl Hogue Smith, PhD, comes to听Teaching English in the Two-Year College听with experience as a guest coeditor for the special issue on teaching college reading for听(TETYC听50.2) and as a coeditor听of听two forthcoming volumes about teaching college reading:听College Teachers Teaching Reading: Practical Strategies for Postsecondary Readers听and听Open(ing) Access: Equity and Reading. She is a听past听chair of the Two-Year College English Association (TYCA), a recipient of the TYCA Nell Ann Picket Service Award, and a recipient of the Mark Reynolds听TETYC听Best Article Award for 鈥�Fractured Reading: Experiencing Students鈥� Thinking Habits鈥� (TETYC听47.1). Her work about teaching college reading and听writing听and teaching Shakespeare appears in several journals and edited collections. Cheryl is a听professor of English and the Faculty Certification Coordinator for the Writing and Reading Across the Curriculum Program at Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York.
